What I Have Lived For

People live for many reasons. There are people who live for good and people who live for bad. I live to get an education, to be with my family, and to bring happiness wherever possible. These are some of the things which make me feel good inside.

I am living to get an education because this is important to me. Education is able to provide me with great knowledge that I will need in the future. Next, my education will help me have a career that I will enjoy and be grateful for. Education is like a journey. You have to keep on traveling until you reach your destination. Education is some thing I have wanted because it can be applied to life in anyway. It is something a person will always need in order to succeed in life. Furthermore, education is important to me because it allows us to understand the world. It gives us an opportunity to relate, communicate, and understand others.

Similarly, I live to be with my family. To have a family means to be loved and give love right back. It is a place where one can feel accepted for who they are. Family makes people feel wanted and appreciated. In addition, family is always there to help one another in their times of need. They will be there in any circumstances standing right by your side. Family helps one make right decisions and they are the people who want to see you achieve the best you can in life.

Happiness is another reason I live for. I live for giving happiness rather than getting it. When I see that I have put on a smile on another’s face it makes me feel good inside. It is nice to see people with the big smiles rather than a frown. A smile can help others feel good about themselves or just about anything. Happiness also, allows people to have better relationships and social lives. Happiness is in every corner, but it is up to us to take a step further and find it.

In conclusion, I live to have a good education, to live with family, and to give happiness. These are important things I have lived for so far. In years to come this may not be the same reasons that I have lived for.

This shows leadership because she has taken the time to start this program in 1998 to help children with their education so they can have a better future. Over the years she has seen her hard work rise and never gave up. This article is related with Lord of the Flies because her Gena Robertson is helping others and in the novel Piggy also helps others (helps Ralph make his decisions).

If we relate this article to Lord of the Flies it is similar to Ralph and Jack having power. This is because jack was voted as leader first so he was ranked number one, but soon once the others did not see him as the leader, Jack became the leader and he had the Power. Football camp for kids serves up life lessons

In this article it Pinball Clemons and Damon Allen help get out an important message to a football camp in Mississauga. They show the kids that in life there is more than just education and throwing a football, and that is to be a good person. Here, this is showing us citizenship and responsibility for your actions. They said “Be good athletes, sure. Be better people first.” While learning the sport the children are also taught to be good citizens. This article involves responsibility too because even though they are learning to be good citizens it is up to the children to be responsible and do what is right rather than wrong. When relating this to Lord of the Flies we can relate it with Roger. Even though he was taught to be a good person and was civilized, as the book went on he became less and less civilized and started doing wrong things. He had many choices but did not make the right ones.

The article in the Toronto Star, by Emily Golding, shows the reader a lot about bullying. Emily Golding wrote about herself being bullied from grade four. From this article, the audience can say that Golding is a very strong girl since she got bullied every day and had no one to support her. Bullying is becoming a very common amongst children and needs to be stopped. Many things can lead to bullying, for example if you are shy or talk a lot. Many people, who are victims of bullying, do not want to stand up to the bully because they are scared the bully might want revenge. Others like Golding, who had gone to someone for help, do not get the help they need because people refuse. This prevents them from getting the proper justice they deserve. When you get bullied you need to be brave. When you are not brave and do not stand up for yourself, the bully will consider you to be weak and continue to bully you. If you are brave, this gives the bully a feeling that they should back off. There are many ways people can show they are brave; they do not have to talk back or fight them. People can go get help from adults. If one adult refuses or does not take action, go to other adults. Keep on looking for an adult until someone helps. There will be someone, for sure, willing to help a victim of bullying.

Once you realize that you are being bullied, you should take action immediately. Taking action immediately will stop the bullying. If action is not taken, like mentioned above, the bullying will continue and you are only going to hurt yourself. Many people are scared to come out and say that they are a victim of bullying and need help. People do not realize that they are not the only victim of bullying; there are many more out there. If one bully is put to a stop, slowly we can make a big difference because there will be one less bully for others to become a victim to.

Moving on after you have been bullied is hard. Once you have become a victim of bullying, it is hard to pull yourself back together. People should move on from bullying and forget about their past, even though it may be hard. Some of the things they can do are join clubs and make new friends to get a good social life. Victims who are being bullied should try to ignore what the bully is saying. For example, if they say you are dumb and ugly, you should not give the bully any attention. This will give the bully a sense that you are not reacting the way they want you to and gradually they will leave you alone. A bully should not be the one to control your life. When you feel that they are determining what you do, it is time to take action.

Bullying is something that will not leave your life without you doing something to solve it. People need to take action immediately. If people let it go on for several days and keep assuring themselves that it will soon stop, it may get too late. When one door is closed to freedom, keep trying until you find an open door. There are people who are willing to help others get out of bullying.

Should there be limits to this constitutional guarantee?

Freedom of speech is a right everyone should have, however with limits. In other words, there should be limits on freedom of speech. People should have the right to say what they want but they should not put others down, use harsh language, and embarrass others in public. When people speak they should be aware of their surroundings.

People should not put others down using their words. People, teenagers in general, put many of their peers down. This is an example of verbal bullying. Using your words to hurt someone can cause many problems. For example, if someone has the freedom of speech to say whatever they could then a bully can harm a person, and this could eventually cause death. People also have many issues with people and their races and being different. There is nothing wrong with being a different colour, practicing different religions or speaking a different language. People make rude comments and put others down by their speech. For example, people talk about others behind their backs. They could be saying something like, “what kind of language is that, it sounds stupid”. This also gets other people thinking that the language is stupid as well. People can also be put down if others do not agree with their opinion. Some people do not want to take into consideration in what others may have to say; they just believe they, themselves, are right. Due to this they can put them down verbally by saying something like, “you have no clue what you are talking about, go get an education first before you open your mouth”. People should have limits to their speech to try and prevent future consequences. However, it also depends on a person’s opinion about what they find offensive and what they do not.

The tone and the language one uses, say a lot about a person. The tone one uses can be exceptional for many cases; however, the language cannot be. Language is very important because just by saying a few words it can say a lot about your character. For example, if you are a teenager and your audience is a group of adults, you should not be using slag and swear words to talk with them. This would be inappropriate and there should be limits on this because your audience is an older age group than you are. With language, people should also keep into consideration that if they talk about a topic that they find is negative in any way, it could be positive to others. With this a person should not say the other person’s opinion is completely wrong, they should respect other opinions as well. Everyone has a different opinion. Furthermore, limits on freedom of speech will help stop arguments and create problems between others. This will make people come closer together and help others in their time of need.

Many people get embarrassed in different ways and environments. When anyone can say anything they want, whenever they want, there is no discipline. People should be taught to have limits and when to say what. For example, you should not talk in between 2 elders. People also embarrass others to make themselves look good. For instance, if two people are talking to their boss and one person tells their boss something embarrassing about the other. There is no need for that person to say this; however, they did this to make themselves look better than the other. When there are limits to speech, it helps to protect the feelings of others and build positive relationships.

In conclusion, people should have limits to their speech. They should have limits because it respects the culture of others, builds positive relationships and helps to protect the feelings of others. With limits on speech people can get their message out and not hurt others, at the same time.
